Enterprise Architect
You will be reporting to the Lead Architect to work as part of the Dotcom Strategy & Architecture team and lead the creation of the Enterprise Architecture for the Dotcom Operating model Business domains. You will be expected to create the Strategic Enterprise Architecture and drive and govern solution architectures in the various Dotcom Business Domains, specifically in relation to eCommerce, Supply Chain, Retail Stores & Commercial. This will entail producing Architecture Roadmaps, Principles Policies, Standards & guidelines as well as future strategy.
* Lead the creation and maintenance of the global Application, Information and Technical Enterprise Roadmaps for the responsible Business domain.
* Develop and maintain the current, future state and intermediate architecture blue prints for the Business domain.
* Publish and maintain domain standards, policies, principles and guidelines.
* Ensure cross-domain requirements are identified and issues resolved, resulting in the creation of a cohesive Enterprise Roadmap.
* Track industry trends for the domain and escalate potential areas of exploitation.
* Contribute to feasibility studies on domain specific new technologies.
* Participate in reviews of solution architectures developed by the programmes.
* Provide governance and alignment of development program architecture to the IT strategy.
* Supply hands-on architecture expertise through consultative and review sessions to the IT programmes and business.
* Work with Solution Architects and the business function to ensure that architecture solutions meet the business requirements and fit with the overall IT Enterprise Architecture & strategy.
* Work with key vendors to the domain to influence the direction of their products and services ensuring maximum value .
* Work with regional Enterprise Architects to ensure that IT strategies being developed for the regions are aligned with Group IT strategy.
* Support Solution Architects on technical issues.
* Work with the business to prepare architecture requirements and to aid the definition of programme scope.
* Translate business strategies into implementable IT strategies for the domain.
* Ensure that all domain strategies adhere to related Enterprise Architecture disciplines such as Information Architecture and Technology Architecture standards
* Conduct feasibility studies for domain specific new technologies, if applicable.
* Lead reviews of solution architectures developed by the programmes.
* Identify, challenge and track all exceptions to domain strategies, principles, policies and standards, ensuring business justification.
* Ensure that exception resolution plans are in place.
* Track and promote use of common methods and processes for achieving solution design.
* Coach, develop and manage the team to ensure objectives are met, policies and practices are developed and services are delivered to the desired standard.
* Engage with the business ensuring priorities are identified and prioritised.
* Drive the definition of the business Enterprise Roadmaps identifying how business requirements are met through innovative IT projects and programmes.
* Work with the IT Directors, Programme managers and the Business teams to ensure the domain Roadmaps are achievable and correctly estimated and to drive down the cost of IT.
Role:
* Creation of Information and Integration roadmaps
* Establishing key Governance around architecture issues
* Holding regular Project design reviews & helping to create an architecture community
* Investigation of design issues with the project teams
* Identification, costing and evaluation (business and IT impact) of design solutions
* High level design of chosen solutions in consultation with various teams
* Review and creation of technical designs and Architectures
* Assistance to above areas design and test teams concerning any issues arising
* Liaising with key individuals within and outside of Dotcom, such as Solution Architects, third parties and other relevant teams within IT and the Business.
* Design solutions will be expected to conform to agreed Strategy and Architecture principles.

Deliverables:
* Roadmaps and Strategies for the relevant Business Domain as well as contributing to the Information and Technology strategies
* Contributing to the implementation of the Dotcom Enterprise Service Bus and other Integration technologies
* Principles, Standards, Policies and Guidelines relating to technology specifically around:
* Creating a loosely coupled Enterprise Integration solution
* Promoting agility
* Reuse & Repeatability
* Internationalisation
* Interoperability with other Business domains such as Plc aspect of the business.
* High Level architecture solutions for the Operating Model.
* Maintenance of the Business Domain Architecture and system inventory
* Various Enterprise Architecture Discuss papers and Key Decision documents
* Contribution to the Corporate Integration Architecture and Data models
* Reviews of Solution Architecture within the IT Programmes
Candidate Profile
A degree level 2.1 qualification or equivalent with a sound approach of technical programming expertise. You'll need a logical approach to problem solving, and the ability to constructively review solutions proposed by our development teams. As an experience professional, you will have extensively demonstrated experience in Application development with a preference of demonstrated Integration Architecture or design experience a breadth of understanding of architectural issues including experience of two or more of the following:
* Application Architecture
* Data Architecture
* Integration architecture and Strategy
* Technical Architecture
* Enterprise Architecture techniques and frameworks
* Enterprise Data Model
* Retail industry systems
A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in some of the following:
* ERP systems, particularly for Retail
* eCommerce applications & transactional website technologies
* Latest eCommerce trends and best practice
* Key Integration concepts e.g. Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Operational Data Stores (ODS), Extraction Transformation and Load (ETL)
* Oracle Fusion middleware
* Service Orientated Architecture
* Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)
* Modelling business processes within the Information/Integration Layer.
* Web Services
* Retail domains such as Supply Chain, Merchandising, Warehouse Management, Store systems
Knowledge of three or more of the following is desirable:
* Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman
* UML and Rational Unified Process
* ATG eCommerce
* Oracle eBusiness
* Sterling Commerce (Yantra)
* Oracle Retail applications
* ETL (Ab Initio)
* EAI (Biztalk)
* ESB (Software AG (Web Methods), TIBCO Rendezvous or EMS, Oracle BEA Aqualogic)
* Project Management delivery methodologies
* J2EE/EJB
* MS .Net
