Our growing Production Services team has a new requirement for a Technical Systems Manager of a small engineering team. Reporting to the Production Services Manager, the successful candidate will provide a 50% hands-on technical role to achieve a smooth and manageable systems infrastructure. Although based in Woking, Surrey, occasional travel to our London office and remote DataCentres will be required.

Essential Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities:
10 yrs+ Solaris server implementation and operational management
4 yrs+ Systems Engineer Team Leading
5 yrs+ experience of supporting environments with more than 500 systems
Able to provide vision and drive innovative solutions
Very experienced with Solaris (8, 10) and Linux on SPARC and x86 systems
Demonstrable experience with Solaris technologies, for example, ZFS, DTrace, SMF, Zones/Containers
An understanding of Business Continuity planning and requirements
Ability to liaise with senior management, developers, solution architects and manage external vendor relationships
Experience with managing and delivering large technical projects to deadlines including communicating, documenting and presenting projects
Participation in the escalation process, on-call support rota and weekend work as required
Analysing the key architectural requirements of new DataCentre services, producing functional specifications and helping ensure enhancements to the service fulfil the requirement
To ensure that DataCentre systems are fit for the purpose on delivery
To provide intensive on site support immediately before, during and after roll-out of new systems
To provide the interface between the DataCentre Systems team, client implementation, exchanges and development teams
Representation of Fidessa products and services as the platform to meet our customer requirements through discussion, presentations and occasionally demonstration
Desirable Skills:
ITIL Knowledgeable
Experience of configuration of Cisco routers/switches
Knowledge of power and cooling operations of servers within a medium-sizes datacentre
Windows OS server implementation and maintenance
