Aerodynamic Engineer to perform aerodynamic Design and Analysis of Airframes onto Guided Weapon Systems. Candidates will be required to perform the below tasks.
Provide support to the Proximity Manager, Aerodynamics Technical Expert and Project CDEs as required.
Responsible for planning, conducting and reporting on the airframe and aerodynamics prediction design and wind tunnel test (semi-empirical or wind tunnel) related activities across a number of projects.
Support and undertake certificate of design analysis as required.
Support the design of the airframe by working with the appropriate programme to understand requirements and liaise with subsystem teams to identify the solution.
Conduct research into ways of improving the integration of aerodynamic prediction techniques into the airframe design process.
Conduct research into the prediction of future trends in aerodynamics and related technologies.
PROBLEM SOLVING CHALLENGES
Ensure the airframe solution meets the requirements of the projects taking into consideration factors such as operation over a large envelope of speed, cost, mass, volume, platform integration and safety requirements.
Ensure that the airframe design does not have a severely detrimental effect in the performance of the overall weapon system.
