From 2003 to present, Modis has worked with Ufi learndirect in Sheffield to provide IT people resources under the terms and conditions of Service Category 5 of S-Cat, the supply of specialist IT contractors. We have successfully placed over 100 contractors on assignment, with skills and roles including:
Modis is perceived by Ufi as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner rather than an agency. We have relationships in place at Board level, Procurement level and from a customer-facing technical point of view. We also attend regular meetings on-site to review and update our performance and progress.
Following a competitive procurement via the S-Cat framework agreement, Modis was appointed as a supplier to Wakefield MDC from April 2004. Since then we have successfully placed a number of qualified and experienced IT Staff and Project Managers.
We have worked with Haringey Council as preferred supplier since 1997, supporting them in their drive to restructure and to provide a centralised IT function, taking over responsibilities of the IT function from the business. Key skills that have been supplied have been Project Management and Business Analysis, Network, Helpdesk, infrastructure consultants and Oracle development skills. In 1999 Haringey Council consulted with Modis in the establishment of a formal 3-year preferred supplier agreement with two additional resource organisations in order to comply with EEC competition regulations.
Modis has provided specialist contract staff to Europe's Meteorological Satellite Organisation EUMETSAT for more than 5 years and has extensive experience within the space industry.
Over the years we have provided a number of consultants of different profile types to support both the Eumetsat Polar Systems (EPS) and Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) programmes at EUMETSAT. Expertise provided includes:
Modis currently has a project with Eurostat - Statistical Office of the European Communities. Since January 2001 we have headed the programme involved in statistical modelling for logistics (e.g., transport) within the EU.
Eurocontrol is the European organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation, whose headquarters are in Brussels, though other sites include Paris, Maastricht, Luxembourg and Karlsruhe.
Modis has provided Eurocontrol with technical assistance for over 20 years. This has included providing software engineers, analyst programmers, testing and integration engineers, principle analysts, database/systems administrators and network engineers with expertise across a broad range of skills. Modis is represented by a large number of consultants and skills at any one time and currently supply over 60 IT/software engineering consultants. During the past decade several of our consultants have joined Eurocontrol’s staff and have risen to responsible levels within the organisation.
Since 1996 Modis has enjoyed a preferred supplier agreement with the Eurocontrol Experimental Centre in Bretigny, whose main activity is the provision of real-time simulation platforms for simulation, experimentation and operational evaluation for countries around the world and for internal Eurocontrol or EU sponsored projects. We have also had a similar agreement since 1998 with the CFMU division (Central Flow Management Unit) at Eurocontrol Brussels which is responsible for implementing actions to improve the coordination of air traffic control systems throughout Europe, and to carry out research and development work, aimed at increasing air traffic control capacity in Europe. Modis has a framework agreement in place to support EATMP (European Air Traffic Management Programme) also at Eurocontrol HQ.
