Major Utilities Company

Modis has worked with this major utilities company since 1997, providing a vendor management service for all IT contractors on-site. By acting as a firewall, we have successfully resolved issues with agencies taking margins considered too high, reducing them to a highly competitive level, not including intangible savings based on time saved by HR, procurement and line managers in the recruitment process. Modis was also successful by removing the ‘middle’ agency on a number of contractors and managed recruitment of key staff on critical projects within tight timescales.

In partnership with Modis, this company has also been able to actively manage the recruitment process and performance of supplying agencies, through the use of reports from the software Modis has provided.

We have introduced:

  • Standard margins and contracts with suppliers
  • Better control of the quality of people from those suppliers
  • Improved efficiency in the turnaround of requirements
  • Significant reduction in the amount of time the HR team procurement and line managers spend dealing with contractor issues
  • Consolidated invoices reducing work for the finance team
