Client Overview: NHS Connecting for Health
NHS Connecting for Health is the agency delivering new integrated IT systems and services to help modernise the NHS and ensure care is centred around the patient. The new computer systems and services will connect over 100,000 doctors, 38,000 nurses and 50,000 other healthcare professionals in England by 2010.
The position to be filled was Information Governance Policy Support Manager within New Developments and Records Management. The client was in need of a candidate who not only held all the particular technical skills, but also had experience within the NHS, data protection and strong experience within the healthcare industry and in particular, information governance.
The Modis Solution:
The Modis recruitment team has worked creatively to source high calibre candidates and to manage a quick, structured and visible recruitment process for hiring managers and candidates. From the commencement of the contract the Modis team worked diligently on embedding best practices aligned with CfH's requirements.
Due to the role being very specific, the sourcing of finding the best candidate consists of searching on our internal database, advertising on job boards some of which are NHS specific, press advertising, referrals, networking and head hunting. The candidate needs to be matched to the culture of the NHS, adopting the work ethics of the NHS, its values and also the confidentiality of the particular role they’re fill. Candidates are interviewed by Modis to guarantee the success of each placement and a combined effort from the team ensures they’re well placed to find the best person for the job
Modis manages the performance of the service through comprehensive management information with a major emphasis on continuous measurement and improvement. In July 2006 Modis implemented a market leading e-recruitment system, Global Successor from technology partner I-Grasp. This provides CfH HR, hiring managers and Modis with improved visibility and control of the recruitment process.
The Outcome:
Modis hold a 100% record in filling each requirement they have so far been given. The candidate was happy with the recruitment process however mentioned that it can be lengthy due to the amount of client paperwork needed. Modis are looking into ways of speeding this up and taking more of the workload from the NHS’ HR.

Client Overview: Leading Professional Services Firm
A leading professional services firm with a network of offices across all continents needed an Information Security Technical Adviser (ISTA). This ISTA would be responsible for providing IT Security Advisory and Accreditation services to the business, and ensuring applications and services are compliant with the company’s security standard. The candidate needed specific qualifications, including CISSP as well as being prepared to travel.
The Modis Solution:
The permanent team identified a number of key candidates from our internal database, and supported the search campaign in on-line advertising, networking referrals and head hunting.
This role requires the ability to establish and develop effective, trusting relationships with internal customers, together with a proven knowledge of the methods necessary to assess information security within a large organisation.
Due to the difficulty of finding candidates for this area, Modis suggested an agency briefing with the managers would be beneficial.
From this, Modis then conducted a rigorous and in-depth selection process including face to face interviews in order to pin point the candidates most suited to this role. This resulted in a shortlist of excellent candidates ready to meet with the client.
Outcome
After an exhaustive selection routine, we were able to present a first-rate candidate who was offered the role and has recently been promoted within the company to that of a senior role.
