Analyst programmers use their knowledge and skills to solve computer problems and enable computer technology to meet the needs of consumers, clients or organisations.

This role requires them to apply their skills to business, scientific, or engineering data-processing problems and design new solutions when needed. This may include planning for the hardware and technologies to be used, developing software applications, or devising ways to apply existing system resources to support additional operations.

As an analyst programmer you should be looking at the following qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field
• 2 years in application development
• Visual Basic, VB.Net, C#, XML, Python, PHP, Java, ASP and Perl
• Testing
• Documentation
• J2EE application environment
